POSTION: MONITORING AND EVALUATION INTERNS HARGEISA (2 POSITIONS )

Background/ Introduction
DRC is an International non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world.
DRC opened its first office in the region in Somaliland in 1998 to support the sustainable return and integration of refugees and internally displaced people (IDP). Most of the refugee population has now returned and activities mostly target the host community and internally displaced people.
The Somaliland programme aims at supporting durable solutions through livelihood interventions, reconstruction and rehabilitation of infrastructure and protection, advocacy and capacity building activities. However, the organization also undertakes life-saving activities such as water trucking, health and sanitation and the distribution of basic household items when required.

Position’s Overall Objectives
The M&E Interns will, in coordination and cooperation with the M&E staff, and supervised by the M&E Officer, is expected to give a substantial contribution to:
1. To assist the M and E team in the overall work.

2. Closely work in Field level documentations for all Projects and keep track of all changes in beneficiary lists as required.

Position’s Specific Objectives
Furthermore, the M&E Interns, in coordination and cooperation with supporting staff, is expected to pursue the following objectives in his/her daily work:
1. To assist data collection of surveys and supervise enumerators.
2. To assist data entry and assist supervision of data entry personnel.
3. To closely work with documentation and updating of all current projects.

Responsibilities and Tasks
To achieve the overall and specific position’s objectives the M&E Interns will perform the following tasks and undertake the following responsibilities:
1. Take part data collection in the field
2. Ensure Quality Supervision of the enumerators of the field while doing their data collection
3. Make sure that all the questionnaires and other documents from surveys are archived well.

4. Take part data entry of surveys and assist its supervision.
5. Ensure a clean and processed data ready to be analysed after a completion of a data entry activity.
6. To assist in updating, maintaining and development of various databases such as Monitoring and Complaints databases for M&E related activities.
7. Assist in production of a map.

Qualifications
1. Experience in Field data collection at least 6 months, Preferably within international NGOs.
2. Relevant Diploma, Certificate, Degree or short course on Statistics, Research, Accountability etc.
3. Knowledge of Excel and SPSS is an asset.
4. Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and writing skills.
