VSF Germany is an international Non Governmental Organization, providing humanitarian aid and development assistance to pastoralists and vulnerable communities in areas where livestock is of importance. In the region, VSF Germany implements activities in southern Sudan, Sudan, Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia.
With support in animal health, agriculture, marketing, food safety but also with developing the capacity of communities and governmental institutions or initiating peace and conflict resolution we work towards food security and strengthened livelihoods of pastoralist communities.
The Country Director is a senior manager position, mainly supporting the execution of VSF Germany strategic objectives and working in respective country as the contact of the organization.
We are looking for a qualified, competent person, to take up the position of Country Director for Somalia. The incumbent will be based in Garowe, Puntland with frequent travels to Somaliland and other project areas. Key responsibilities

Security Manager, WORLD VISION INTERNATIONAL Nairobi, Somalia


PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To develop and implement staff safety and management procedures for World Vision Somalia. Gather and analyse information about the operating environment in Somalia, present regular updates and analyses to stakeholders, and advise the Program Director on operating conditions in Somalia. Collaborate with other humanitarian security bodies and personnel to collect and share information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         To collect and collate regular security updates from the field sites and other sources and prepare monthly reports and quarterly security analyses for WVS management and WVI OCS.
·         To harmonize security strategy, evacuation plans and new staff security orientation and ensure our security protocols are maintained and adhered to.
·         To manage security “project” budgets, including preparing reports (with support from the PDU and Finance Departments)

Purpose of the Position
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Field Operations L-5, responsible for the formulation, planning, design, implementation and evaluation of the UNICEF programmes within the zone.

Key Expected Results
Continuously monitor, assess and analyze the needs of vulnerable groups of women and children in the zone, propose strategy and appropriate interventions for UNICEF support and identify institutions and other community groups to implement these programmes. In collaboration with government officials, NGOs and other UNICEF colleagues. Plan and manage UNICEF interventions in the zone and prepare appropriate project proposals, plan of actions and work plans accordingly. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the staff based in the zone and assigned to outposts in the zone. Study the strengths and weaknesses of collaborating institutions, governmental, NGO and community groups and recommend ways by which UNICEF can increase their capacity to serve the needs of targeted women and children. Prepare budgets, draft necessary supply and cash requisitions and liaise with Supply Sections in Nairobi and Copenhagen to facilitate speedy procurement, arrival and distribution of programme assistance.

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION SERVICE ON GREENHOUSE TECHNOLOGY AT GEBILEY, AWDAL AND MAROODI JEEH REGIONS, SOMALILAND


1. Background
Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA Somalia) is a humanitarian agency that started programs in Somalia in 1992 and is committed to its core values of enabling positive changes and building capacities of the communities through development and relief interventions and working with established local and external networks and partnerships. 
ADRA’s goal is to build and enhance the capacities of vulnerable communities in Somalia to attain sustainable positive change in their lives. Currently, ADRA Program portfolios cover projects in the energy; water and sanitation; education; emergency and food security sectors.
ADRA is currently implementing an integrated program focusing on WASH and livelihood activities for various vulnerable communities in  Somaliland and Mudug.  The program is intended to reach four (7) farmers’ groups through the establishment of demonstration sites and about 20 villages benefitting through the support of WASH activities.
The demonstration sites will include the 4 sites supported by the forerunner of PSWELS at Baki and Gebiley. The two additional sites located at Maroodi Jeeh are borrowing from the pre-existing ones to get the farmers copy the best practices as they learn through the demonstration sites. ADRA has supported the establishment of these  demonstration sites with the necessary structures and the required basic inputs including certified seeds.  The project’s goal is to provide emergency relief and strengthen the resilience of communities to enhance economic recovery in Somalia.
Specific objectives include;
i. Increased access to sustainable safe water, sanitation, and hygiene
ii. Diversified household agricultural-based livelihoods

AIMS OF THE ORGANIZATION

Since its foundation in 1968, GRT has been working with socially marginalized groups and individuals, being expression of cultural values outside dominant paradigms.
GRT' story is a journey through culture, enriched over the years (mainly in Nicaragua, Guatemala, Somalia, Nepal and Romania) through cooperation programs where local communities are supported in inventing and developing their own surviving strategies.

GRT is an international humanitarian organization working in Somalia mainly in the fields of protection and mental health. The organization has been implementing UNHCR-funded projects on improving the response to protection risks faced by refugees, asylum seekers, migrants and IDP communities in North eastern Somalia through the provision of psychosocial support with a specific interest to children (formal and non formal Education, recreational activities, etc.). With the support of UNICEF, UNHCR, UNFPA and IOM, a GBV program (response and prevention) has also been implemented in Puntland.
