Data Entry Intern DRC


BACKGROUND
The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. Using a protection of human rights framework, DRC has mainly focused on those who are displaced by conflict. Programmes include protection, livelihoods, food and NFI distribution, water and sanitation, and advocacy amongst others, as well as non-operational regionwide initiatives, focusing on advocacy and capacity building. The Somaliland operation includes four sub-offices that are supported by the Hargeisa main office. Currently there is over 80 DRC staff in the region.
PURPOSE
The Data Entry Intern will ensure Storing correct information in the DAD database locations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurate interpretation, compilation,and entering of data in the computer system. Proper analysis and verification to ensure data integrity.
Storing correct information in the desired database locations i.e. DAD system. Completion of the required task within the desired deadline.
Manage additional responsibilities including troubleshooting, file back-ups, regular updating, and retrieval of data, as and when required. Updating of internal standard reporting formats
Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being dealt with.

REPORTING ARRANGEMENTS
The line supervisor will be the DRC Deputy Program Manager.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Essential:
Excellent command of English language - written and oral. Data analysis and interpretation skills.
Computer management skills; with fluent knowledge of MS Excel a must.
Speed and accuracy with attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines.Additional Skills:
Typing speed between 40-60 words per minute.10-key by touch experience. Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
Degree in secretarial field and work experience of a minimum of 2 years
Preferable:
A minimum qualification of a high-school diploma with computer literacy is a must. Additional qualifications in Math for dealing with alphabetic and numerical data.
Technical education in computer management will as it would require to work with database software like MS office
TERMS AND CONDITIONS 
 DRC will not pay any remuneration to the intern
 DRC will arrange transportation for the intern
 DRC will pay lunch for the intern.
 DRC will provide communication allowance (airtime) to the intern.
 During the internship period, the intern will be under injury/occupational insurance cover.
 DRC will provide per diem to the intern in case of field trips; based on the per diem rates.
